Welcome to Meldrums Hotel, a charming early 19th century coaching inn nestled by the Ceres Burn in the village of Ceres, by Cupar in the Kingdom of Fife. Ceres was described as "The most attractive village in Scotland" by George Scott-Moncrief the famous Scottish Literalist. Ceres is set in beautiful rural Fife yet is only a short drive from the historic home of golf St Andrews. Or many other golf courses nearby.A short drive takes you to many historacal sites & places of interest.As Falkland Palace where the kings of Scotland stayed before their coronation.To the secret bunker an iconic 60s fallout shelter during the cold war.

Ceres has a rich and proud history with links back to 1324 and the battle of Bannockburn. The men of Ceres fought bravely alongside Robert the Bruce and as a celebration of their triumph were awarded their own Highland Games. This tradition is kept alive by the staging of Ceres Annual Games held on the last Saturday in June and is unique in that it is entirely free of charge. Ceres is also within easy commuting Distance of Edinburgh,Dundee,Perth or Glasgow.

The estate has a beautiful loch and is stocked with rainbow trout available for guests to fish, all equipment provided. Excellent road and rail links to Scotland's major cities, Edinburgh is forty minutes driving time through the beautiful Fife countryside. A visit to St Andrews is a must for visitors walk round the historic streets and visit Scotland's only bottle dungeon. Walk on the sands where scenes from the inspiring film Chariots of Fire were filmed. Play a round or two on the famous Old Course or on any of the numerous other local courses.

Ceres can also a good base for walkers in the Cupar - St.Andrews area. With both easy rambles or more challenging walks, in pleasant rural surroundings.Including the Fife costal walk from the Forth to the Tay.Also an easy drive to the glens of Angus & Perthshire.With there rolling hills & fabulous views.
